Who we are

Best Month To is published by Ronald Vorstenbosch (“we”, “us”) at bestmonthto.com. This policy explains how the site uses cookies, advertising, and analytics, and the rights you have under the EU/UK GDPR and South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

What this site collects

We do not run user accounts or a contact form that posts to our servers. Email sent to [email protected] is handled as ordinary correspondence.

If advertising consent is granted, Google and its partners may collect identifiers and usage data as described below. Cloudflare Web Analytics (cookieless) may process limited technical data about page views.

Cookies

We use cookies in these categories:

  • Advertising (when consent is granted): Google AdSense and DoubleClick cookies used to measure ads and, where allowed, to show personalised ads.
  • Analytics: Cloudflare Web Analytics does not use cookies.

In the EEA/UK and other regions that require it, Google’s certified GDPR message collects advertising consent. Use the “Privacy choices” link in the footer (it calls Google’s revocation message when that script is present) or the opt-out links below. Until consent is granted, Consent Mode v2 keeps advertising storage denied.

Google AdSense, DoubleClick, and personalised ads

We use Google AdSense to show advertisements. Google and partners may set cookies, including DoubleClick cookies such as IDE, DSID, and related advertising cookies, on your device. These can be used to:

  • Serve ads on this site and other sites
  • Measure ad views and clicks
  • Show personalised ads based on your activity, if you have not opted out

Google’s use of information is described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services (policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites), Advertising cookies, and Google’s Privacy Policy.

You can opt out of personalised advertising here:

Google Consent Mode v2

We implement Google Consent Mode v2. The following storage signals default to denied: ad_storage, ad_user_data, ad_personalization, and analytics_storage. Google’s certified consent message, where it is shown, updates those signals when you accept or reject ads.

Cookieless pings may still allow Google to measure basic ad performance in aggregate without using advertising cookies. Serving personalised ads in the EEA/UK may also require a certified Consent Management Platform.

Cloudflare Web Analytics (cookieless)

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand which pages are read. It is designed not to use cookies and not to track visitors across sites. Cloudflare describes the data it processes in its privacy policy. This analytics product is not used to personalise ads.

GDPR rights (EEA/UK)

If GDPR applies to you, you may request:

  • Access to personal data we hold
  • Rectification of inaccurate data
  • Erasure (“right to be forgotten”) where applicable
  • Restriction of, or objection to, processing
  • Data portability where technically feasible
  • Withdrawal of cookie consent without affecting prior lawful processing
  • A complaint to your supervisory authority (for example the ICO in the UK, or your EU DPA)

POPIA rights (South Africa)

If POPIA applies to you, you may request:

  • Confirmation of whether we hold personal information about you, and access to it
  • Correction or deletion of personal information that is inaccurate, excessive, or outdated
  • To object to processing on reasonable grounds
  • To lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa)

Retention

Advertising consent is stored by Google’s certified message, not by a cookie we set ourselves. Advertising cookies follow Google’s retention periods. Cloudflare analytics are retained according to our Cloudflare account settings (typically up to 15 months). Emails you send us are kept only as long as needed to respond.

How to contact us

For privacy requests, email [email protected]. We do not require you to use a web form.
